Dryers

A dryer that runs but stays cold is very often a blown thermal fuse — and in a house, a blown fuse is frequently a sign of a long or restricted vent run. Whirlpool and Maytag dryers come to us mostly with a squealing or thumping noise — that is usually a worn idler pulley. Sometimes the heating element has failed. LG dryers almost always need new drum rollers when they start rumbling.

Washers
The drain pump is the repair we do most on Samsung, LG, Whirlpool and Maytag washers. Signs: water left in the drum, a drain error, a loud hum without draining. On many front-loaders you can check one thing yourself: the pump filter behind the small panel at the bottom front. Put towels down and a shallow tray under it — a lot of water comes out — then remove socks, coins or hair pins. If the washer still won’t drain, the pump needs to be replaced. On LG front-loaders we also replace torn door boots that leak at the front.
Refrigerators and freezers
We repair Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Hisense, Haier and Midea refrigerators, plus upright and chest freezers. On Hisense fridges the usual causes of poor cooling are the compressor start relay, the main control board, the defrost thermostat or a fan motor. We hold ODP certification for refrigerant handling.
