Last updated: October 25, 2026

Doctor Appliance (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides appliance repair, installation and maintenance services across the Lower Mainland, British Columbia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Information we collect

We collect the personal information we need to provide our services, including:

  • Your name, phone number, email address and service address;
  • Details about your appliance (type, brand, model, serial number) and the problem you describe;
  • Appointment details, quotes, invoices and payment records (card payments are processed by our payment processor);
  • Messages you send us by phone, text message, email or through the forms on this website, and records of our calls and messages with you;
  • Photos of the appliance or installation area, if you choose to send them;
  • Basic technical information when you visit this website, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and cookies (see section 6).

2. How we use your information

  • To schedule, confirm and carry out service visits;
  • To diagnose and repair your appliance, order parts and provide quotes;
  • To invoice, collect payment and keep business and tax records;
  • To handle warranty requests and follow-up questions;
  • To contact you about your appointment or service by phone, text message or email;
  • To improve our website and services and to protect our website from spam and abuse.

3. Consent

By contacting us, booking a service or submitting a form on this website, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us (see section 9). Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide service.

4. Sharing your information

We share personal information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy, with:

  • Independent contractor technicians who work with us. They have access to customer information such as name, phone number and service address in order to complete your service request;
  • A team member who contacts customers on our behalf from outside of Canada (for example, to schedule appointments, follow up on service or handle invoices and payments). This person has access to customer information needed for that work;
  • Our telecommunications provider, through which our calls and text messages (SMS) with customers are made and delivered;
  • Appliance manufacturers and their warranty administrators, when a repair is performed under a manufacturer’s warranty;
  • Parts suppliers, when parts need to be ordered for your appliance;
  • Service providers who help us run our business, such as payment processors, scheduling and communication tools, email and website hosting, and accounting;
  • Authorities, when required or permitted by law.

We ask everyone we share information with to use it only for the purpose it was provided. Some of the people and service providers we work with are located, or store and process information, outside of British Columbia or Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessed by courts, law enforcement or other authorities there.

5. How we protect your information

We take reasonable physical, administrative and technical measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure or loss, such as password-protected systems and limiting access to people who need it for their work. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

6. Cookies and website analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, to understand how visitors use it (for example, through Google Analytics) and to protect forms from spam (for example, through Google reCAPTCHA). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the website may not work properly without them.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information as long as needed for the purposes described above, including warranty periods, and as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or destroy it.

8. Access and correction

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. We will respond within the time required by law. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
