Midea Washer Error Codes: E10, E12, E21 and E30

Midea front-load washers show a short error code when a cycle can’t continue. Midea’s owner’s manual lists four codes that you can often fix yourself. Any other code means the washer needs service.

E30: door open or door lock problem

Open the door and close it again firmly. Check that no clothing is caught in the door seal. If E30 keeps appearing with the door properly closed, the door lock may have failed.

E10: water fill problem

The washer isn’t filling as expected. Check that both taps are fully open, straighten any kinked inlet hose, and clean the small filter screen inside the inlet valve connection. If the water supply is fine, the inlet valve itself may be faulty.

E21: washer doesn’t drain

Check the drain hose for kinks or blockages, then clean the drain pump filter behind the small panel at the bottom front of the washer. Put towels down first. Restart the washer. If it still won’t drain, the drain pump has likely failed. It’s one of the most common washer repairs and usually a one-visit fix.

E12: water overflow

The washer detected too much water. Check that the drain hose isn’t blocked and restart. If it repeats, the water level sensor or inlet valve needs testing.

Other codes

Midea’s guidance for any other code is to restart the washer, and if the code remains, to contact a qualified technician. Those codes usually point to the motor, the control board or a sensor.
